CD Projekt Red's New Announcements
Let's talk about the elephants in the room
CD Projekt Red's newly announced projects
Project Polaris:
CDPR wants to deliver the game six years after Project Polaris is released–so presumably, this game will be the first installment in a Witcher trilogy. However, CDPR has not revealed much about Project Polaris, other than to say that it will be based on the “legacy of Wild Hunt.” Given that the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in May of 2016, it would suggest that Project Polaris would come out in late 2022 or early 2023. Assuming that CDPR sticks to its normal release schedule, that means that we wouldn’t see Project Polaris until sometime in 2025. Given that CDPR is already working on a follow-up game for the Witcher 3, it seems likely that Project Polaris will be an expansion or even a new game altogether, rather than a direct sequel to The Witcher 3. At this point, all we know is that Project Polaris is in pre-production and that it’s based on The Witcher 3.

Project Orion:
CD Projekt Red has announced plans for a sequel to their hit game Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion.
The studio quietly announced the sequel in a batch of strategy materials released via their investor relations account. Project Orion is described as a full-fat "Cyberpunk 2077 sequel that will prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe." It will be developed by the core CD Projekt Red team.
This news will come as a relief to fans of the game who were worried that the studio might not be working on a sequel, given the recent controversy surrounding the game's release. However, it seems that CD Projekt Red is committed to the Cyberpunk universe and we can expect more great things from them in the future.
Nothing else is known about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel at this stage, but it appears that the project is in pre-production at the absolute most, according to CD Projekt Red's updated production guide.
The main CD Projekt Red Twitter account echoed the news in its own post. "Orion is a codename for our next Cyberpunk game, which will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe," a brief statement reads.

CDPR president and joint CEO Adam Kicinski said in a video presentation that the company plans to focus on the development of Orion, the next Cyberpunk game. He said that the ambitious plan for the game will require a lot of work and dedication from the team and that the company is opening a new studio in North America to help support the team's growth.
Project Orion should not be confused with Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the first expansion of the original game. Phantom Liberty is the only planned Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, which suggests that work on Project Orion may begin or accelerate after the DLC is finalized.
Project Sirius:
Project Sirius is a new Witcher game that The Molasses Flood is developing and supported by CDPR.
Though not many details were revealed regarding Project Sirius, CDPR mentioned that it would be an “innovative take on The Witcher universe telling an unforgettable story for existing Witcher fans and new audiences.”
Sirius is currently under development, and 60 CDPR members are supporting The Molasses Flood during the process. Project Sirius will feature a multiplayer game mode alongside the traditional single-player campaign.
Project Sirius, the upcoming side project in the Witcher franchise, has yet to be given a defined role. It's hard to say how big or small of a part it will play in the series as a whole, especially since the main project, Project Polaris, will be receiving sequels. The success of the Witcher tv show on Netflix could mean that Sirius or another title currently being developed could also be an accessible title that would introduce new fans to the franchise. Only time will tell what role Project Sirius will end up playing in the Witcher universe.

Project Canis Majoris:
We've just learned about several upcoming Witcher projects, including one brand-new title not being developed by CD Projekt Red. The company's recent investor presentation revealed information about a suite of new titles. As well as more details about The Witcher 4 - which is known internally as Project Polaris and is described as the "beginning of a new Witcher trilogy" - we learned about Project Canis Majoris. Project Canis Majoris is a new game that's being developed by the Polish studio Spokeo, which is a new studio set up by CD Projekt Red. It's described as a "AAA multiplatform RPG" and is set in "the world of The Witcher", though it's not clear how it will tie in with the existing games. The game is being built using Unreal Engine 4, and while there's no release date yet, it's due to release on PC and consoles. Given that it's in such early stages, it's likely that we won't see it for a while yet. This is just the latest in a string of Witcher announcements from CD Projekt Red. Earlier this year, it was revealed that a new Witcher game was in development for Netflix and that Andrzej Sapkowski - the author of the Witcher books - would be working on the project as a creative consultant. A film adaptation of Sapkowski's books is also in the works, with eagle-eyed fans spotting camera test footage of Geralt in action. With all of this Witcher content on the horizon, it's clear that CD Projekt Red is planning to keep its fantasy world alive for years to come.
Details about the new Witcher project are extremely scarce, but CDPR outlined the project as a "story-driven, single-player open-world RPG set within The Witcher universe." It also confirmed that the title isn't being developed in-house, but has been "contracted to be developed by a 3rd party studio led by ex-Witcher veterans." The name of the studio, Canis Majoris, is Latin for "Greater Dog." This could refer to the School of the Wolf that Geralt is part of throughout the Witcher franchise (and which the new trilogy is thought to be diverging from). However, it's also worth noting that Canis Majoris is a constellation, linked to Orion, the hunter. That could link more closely to the Witch Hunters encountered throughout The Witcher 3, although that's pure speculation.
We learned a lot more about CD Projekt Red at this year's CD Projekt Red Summer Conference. In addition to what we learned about Canis Majoris and The Witcher 4 (and 5 and 6), we also got a little more information about CDPR's partnership with The Flame in the Flood developer The Molasses Flood. On top of that, we also learned that the studio is working on an original IP and that a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is already in development. Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the big games shown off at the conference, and it was also announced that a sequel to the game is already in development. This is in addition to the news that CD Projekt Red is partnering with The Flame in the Flood developer The Molasses Flood. The studio is also working on an original IP, which was revealed to be in development during the conference.

Project Hadar:
The new IP, Hadar, is being developed by CD Projekt Red's Warsaw studio. The game is a first-person shooter set in a "dark future" universe. It will be a multiplayer-focused title with "dedicated servers and an innovative matchmaking system." The game is currently in a pre-alpha state of development. This is a big surprise, considering that CD Projekt Red has built its reputation on turning third-party source content into engaging video games. The most famous example is The Witcher series, which is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novels. The games are critically acclaimed and have a large, passionate fanbase. The success of The Witcher games allowed CD Projekt Red to take risks with Cyberpunk 2077, a game that was incredibly ambitious but ultimately failed to meet expectations. Now, the studio is hoping to recapture that same magic with Hadar. Only time will tell if they can achieve the same level of success with this new IP.
CD Projekt Red, the developers behind the hit game Cyberpunk 2077, have announced a new game called Hadar. However, very little is known about the game at this time. In an update for investors, the studio announced that Hadar is an original IP that is currently in the "IP incubation" phase. This means that the team is still in the early stages of development and no concrete details about the game have been released yet. However, based on the update, it seems that Hadar will be a big project for the studio. A "strike team" is already working on the game and building a foundation for it. It's clear that CD Projekt Red is dedicated to making this a major game that can stand alongside their other hits, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher. At this time, there is no release date or even a hint at what Hadar will be about. However, fans are already eagerly waiting for more information and are eager to see what this new game will bring.— CD PROJEKT IR (@CDPROJEKTRED_IR) October 4, 2022
While the studio didn't describe what type of game "Hadar" will be, CDPR repeatedly referred to itself as a developer of RPG games during the investor call. Therefore, it makes logical sense that "Hadar" will be an RPG of some variety. Studio head Adam Kicinski was quoted as saying, "We are here to create revolutionary role-playing games with memorable stories that inspire gamers."
